"Gang War escalates in the Sea Ward"
Tarsakh 24, 1493 DR

The City Watch is reporting a dramatic surge in gang activity in the Sea Ward.  Citizens of this prosperous district are calling for an immediate crackdown on the Black Network and Xanathar's Guild in the wake of several gangland style slayings this past week.

Lord Calear Argent, Alderman of the Sea Ward, commented "this type of violence and crime goes against everything we hold dear in the Sea Ward.  We want SAFE communities, and SAFE schools for our children.  That's why we don't live in the Docks Ward for goodness sake.  The City Watch has to crack down on these rogue elements before it gets out of hand."

According to the Waterdeep Palace, the city has long been aware of low-level gang activity in the sewers beneath the Sea Ward--but it is unclear why the criminal element has emerged from hiding to bring this behavior into the public eye.

"Noblewoman missing, family offers reward"
Tarsakh 26, 1493 DR

According to reports from the Palace of Waterdeep, a prominent young noblewoman went missing this week.  Lady Diane Rozvar went missing from the Rozvar estate over a week ago, and has not been seen since.  Authorities suspect that Lady Rozvar may have been kidnapped, but the Rozvar family has not received any ransom demands.  Lord Stefan Rozvar is offering a reward of 500 gold for anyone who can find and return his daughter.

Waterdeep's New Top Cop

BREAKING NEWS "Waterdeep's New Top Cop" Mirtul 10, 1493 DR At her latest conference with the Scrivener's Guild, the Open Lord announced that she has accepted the resignation of Lander Hornraven, Commander of the City Watch.  Hornraven was appointed Commander of the City Watch in 1485, under the Neverember administration. Open Lord Silverhand commented, "on behalf of all of the people of Waterdeep, I want to thank him for his service to our city. Hornraven worked hard to protect our public safety."  Hornraven stated: "It has been an honor to serve this city that I love for so many years.  Most of all, I want to thank my fellow members of the City Watch."
