A terrible tragedy befell the beloved and benevolent Cassalanter family yesterday. A vicious cult of fanatical devil worshipers managed to gain entrance to the family crypt. They defaced an ancient mosaic of the family patron, St. Cuthbert. The mosaic was damaged with partial loss of tiles and vile slogans inscribed on the remaining ones. Worse tragedy was avoided when the raiders were repelled from the family crypt by the arrival of a Holy Paladin of Saint Cuthbert, Aeoth the Humble. This humble hammer of heretics and devils immediately set to work to protecting the sleeping family above. The damage was already extensive but the powerful warrior cast a Bearded Devil back to the pit and cast out three degenerate cultists who were continuing to profane the ever gracious and generous Cassalanter heritage and home.

Asked to comment on how he arrived in time to stop further desecration, the meek warrior said plainly that he was called to restore the Cassalanter Household by the watchful spirit of Caladorn Cassalanter. What good fortune must be coming from the consistent good works being done by this noble family to have gained for them such a powerful protector! Knowing the good works and kindly disposition of Victoro and Amalia Cassalanter, our hero could only infer that they would be despondent left alone in this time of desolation with this great evil intruding into the very crypts of their ancestors. When asked about a reward for his labors, the purveyor of purity said simply “All of us deserve redemption, brothers.” He made it clear that he has been called by Caladorn Cassalanter to restore the House of Cassalanter and only its full redemption would serve as his pay.

The damage, being as extensive as it is, will require expensive restoration in order to return it to its original holy splendor. Being the magnanimous people they are, Victoro and Amalia, are surely committed to its reconstruction and cleansing their house of the devilish evil. The renowned art restorationist, Gandy Ohn, has already crafted a model for the mosaic and is preparing the materials needed. There is certainly more to be done and any help that can be offered would surely be accepted by the grieving Cassalanter family. Donations of services, materials, prayers, and gold may be directed to the “Redeem the House of Cassalanter”.
